Two apps with the same “OneNote” title in the Microsoft Store. No way for people to easily tell the two apart. Both OneNote apps are available with the heading “OneNote”. Don’t blame yourself, it’s a problem of Microsoft’s own making and even Microsoft staff get the two muddled up.
UWP apps were going to be Microsoft’s replacement for all traditional Windows programs but it didn’t work out that way. Despite the name, also works on Windows 11. 
No new features and support only until October 2025.
“OneNote for Windows 10” a Universal Windows Platform app. It has all the new and future features plus ongoing support for security and bug fixes. This is the program that’s continuing development. 
“OneNote app on Windows” is the standard desktop program (32/64 bit). There are currently TWO OneNote programs that can run on Windows which Microsoft gave confusingly similar names which have changed over time.
